Welcome to the Dry
Apr 28, 2023

We've been busy at Skippers at Dundee!
Here's a snapshot of March at Dundee Beach . . .

  • All hands were on deck with all team members at Skippers sprucing and readying the property, boats and equipment for the busy months ahead at Dundee Beach. Even our beachfront grassy space got a little TLC with some topsoiling and native plantings that thrive at Dundee Beach. Blitzed it!

  • We were delighted to host Key Development Partners at Skippers who came out to experience Skippers at Dundee accommodation and tours. It’s exciting to be trade ready!

  • Terrific to meet and explore potential collaborations with other tourism operators at Welcome to the Dry, hosted by Tourism Top End.
  • A shout out to our stall neighbours, Bianca from Autopia and Natalie and Ringer from Ozland Educational Tours. Check out their not-to-be-missed tours and experiences – love your work!
  • Enjoyed chatting with Glen Hingley, GM of TTE, about how to better put Dundee Beach on the map as a destination with places to visit and things to do along the way.
  • Always good to touch base with our friends Maddie and Jeroen at Mecure Darwin Airport Hotel. Expansive, exciting developments taking shape at Mecure/ Novotel in what will be a stunning pool vista wowing visitors as they arrive and leave at Darwin International Airport. What’s more, ongoing renovations to Mecure hotel rooms mean that this is the place to stay!

  • We’re excited to team up with Finniss River Lodge to announce a brand, new package,
‘Surf to Station’. Designed to give visitors the ultimate Top End experience, this tour ticks all the boxes. Kick it off with blissful beachfront accommodation, sweeping ocean views and an unforgettable fishing charter in the species-rich waters of Dundee Beach. Then take to the skies for an exhilarating chopper flight. Enjoy spectacular aerial views of the contrasting earth, sea & sky colours and landscapes. Transfer by road (just 15 minutes) to the big sky country, wide open floodplains & luxury accommodation of Finniss River Station.

  • Big thanks to Manager of Finniss River Station, Chase Johnson, for her tour around this incredible station. We loved hearing commentary about wildlife, flora, fauna & the changing seasons. Her natural energy, connection to country and way with people make for an exceptional tour experience.

  • Our new campaign, ‘Have you been to Dundee?’ is launched and live! Encouraging visitors to come & see the unique offerings in our region, this campaign is getting great engagement.

  • Excited to see VEEP Round 6 released by NT Government to support our ongoing endeavours to improve the visitor experience, draw people to Dundee Beach and entice them to stay another day.

  • Plenty of action on the water!  Barramundi, Spanish Mackerel, Threadfin Salmon, Yellowfin Tuna & even a shark were caught and released at Dundee Beach this last week. Some happy guests fishing off the rocks (out the front of Skippers at Dundee) landed a Queenfish one day and Barramundi the next. Sunset over the water makes quite the backdrop to wet a leisurely line in the late afternoon.

  • Exciting new addition! Room 10 is ready to go at Skippers at Dundee. Separate and self-contained, room 10 is now bookable online. Featuring:
  • Airconditioning & large ensuite,
  • 1 x queen bed,
  • small kitchenette with sink, tea & coffee station, coffee pod machine,
  • bar fridge.

So we are strapped in for the holiday season . . . let’s get you on board! There has never been a better time to visit our region. Book online or call to have a chat with us for a getaway to the Top End to discover Dundee Beach.
