What is there to do at Dundee Beach? Dundee Beach is famous for fishing – you can hire a boat, bring a boat, cast off from the rocks or go out on a fishing charter with Skippers. There’s plenty to do if you’re not into fishing though. You can: • take beach walks and enjoy 180° sea views, • explore the hikes and cascading waterfalls at Litchfield National Park, • head out with Skippers on our half day Nature Cruise, try your hand at crabbing and fishing and see the wildlife, • glide across the water with Northern Territory Airboats just 20mins drive from Skippers. • take to the skies and soar over pristine coastlines and azure oceans with a 6min, 15min or 30min helicopter flight from Skippers at Dundee, • explore the local bush and beach trails if you have a 4WD, • visit the Territory Wildlife Park just 45 minutes’ drive from Skippers at Dundee, • cool off, relax or explore beautiful Berry Springs Nature Park, just 45 mins from Skippers at Dundee. • play cricket, croquet or volleyball on the lawns or board games, cards on the deck or in airconditioned comfort. • stretch out for a lazy day with a book and by the pool. • visit Crab Claw Island just 40 mins drive away for a long lunch and scenic ocean views. You don’t have to do anything of course. Just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility. What facilities are available when I book at Skippers? • Sweeping ocean views – absolute beachfront location. • Plunge pool with ocean views. • Choice of 3 queen, 3 double or 4 king single rooms all air-conditioned and ensuited with own bar fridge. • Broad, shaded, multi-level decks all with breathtaking water views. • Stainless steel commercial kitchen to self-cater or for caterers to utilize. • Double burner BBQ – cook while you watch the spectacular sunset over the water. • Spacious airconditioned, living room with TV and kitchenette and ideal for small group training or team building. • Onsite parking and fish filleting station. • Easy stroll to Dundee Beach tavern (250m) for bistro meals, refreshments, ice, fuel and a limited range of grocery items. • BYO fishing rod and fish off the rock platform out the front of Skippers or book a fishing charter with us. Are there crocodiles nearby? Yes, the NT is home to the world’s largest wild crocodile population. That means you can go croc spotting (with Skippers Nature Cruise) and see one of nature’s most magnificent predators, up close. Be sure to observe the signs and follow the guidelines for your safety and for the safety of others. Can we swim at the beach? We don’t advise it (see ‘crocodiles’ above). In fact, for your health and safety, we strongly advise against it. That’s why we have a pool so you can enjoy a cooling swim and the view at the same time! What should we bring with us? Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent and a few light, long-sleeve, cotton shirts are recommended. The Dundee Beach Tavern sells fuel, drinks, bistro and take-away meals, ice and a small range of essential grocery items from sun-up to sun-down 7 days per week. Can we bring our pets? Sorry, but no. This is a pet-free zone in consideration of all our guests. We want to protect the local wildlife—and your pets too. Is mobile phone reception available? Dundee Beach has coverage for Telstra providers only. Can we recycle our bottles and cans? Please do! Place glass (carefully to avoid breakage) plastic bottles and cans into the recycling bin. There are plenty of reasons to explore Dundee Beach, the ‘pocket of paradise’ to quote one of our guests, just 90 minutes south-west of Darwin. When will we see you there?
