Skippers at Dundee was built on something deeper than just a great location. Back in 1995, Ben and Cath Kelly discovered Dundee Beach and quickly fell in love with its fishing, lifestyle, sense of escape and freedom. Over the years, Ben’s brother John and a close circle of mates became part of regular trips to the coast. It was during one of those trips that the idea for a beachfront stay was born — somewhere to come back to after a day on the ocean. Tragically, not long after this initial idea emerged, John lost his life in a rock climbing accident. 

Determined to honour their shared dream, Ben and Cath brought Skippers at Dundee to life in 2017 — giving it John’s middle name, ‘Skipper’. Today, that story lives on in every stay — in the connection, the memories made and the people who gather here. Skippers isn’t just somewhere to sleep. It’s where friends reconnect, families slow down, stories are shared after a day exploring or fishing . . . and where some of the best memories are made.
